Microdermabrasion
Men, women, and teens all share a common desire: to have healthy, youthful skin.

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical exfoliating treatment helpful for those unhappy with acne scarring, sun-damaged skin, age spots, freckles, stretch marks, fine lines, scars, and rough skin. Microdermabrasion involves a stream of fine crystals being delivered across the skin's surface and then being removed via vacuum. The Diamond Tome removes the most superficial layer of the skin while at the same time vacuums the dead skin cells away, uprooting the damaged cells to reveal fresh, invigorated skin. As a result, you will have a smoother texture to the skin. This is called resurfacing, a non-invasive procedure. You can immediately resume your normal activities and your skin will glow after the procedure.

Treatment can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, back, elbows, and feet. Microdermabrasion is a safe, therapeutic approach to skin care when used alone, or in combination with other treatments. In the end, skin is restored to a more youthful appearance and, best of all, there is no "downtime." Resume regular activities immediately!

Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning helps to "refinish" the skin's top layers through a method of controlled surgical scraping and gives the skin a smoother appearance. Dermaplaning is most often used to improve the look of facial skin that is scarred from acne, accidents or previous surgeries, as well as to smooth out small facial wrinkles and sometimes to remove pre-cancerous growths called keratoses. Dermaplaning can be performed on small areas of skin or on the entire face and can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures.

Dermaplaning is performed with a handheld instrument called a dermatome. The dermatome resembles an electric razor and has an oscillating blade that moves back and forth to evenly "skim off" the surface layers of skin that surround the surface irregularities, giving the skin a smoother appearance.

As the new skin begins to grow, it may appear and feel swollen. The skin may also be sensitive and bright pink in color, which may take about three months to fade. Protection from the sun is very important following this type of procedure.

Micropeels
Micro peels, like other chemical peels, involve the application of a chemical irritant to the skin. A micro peel will improve your skin texture, color, and overall appearance as well as decrease the apparent size of your pores. Many of our patients experience improvement in superficial crepe paper wrinkles.

What is a MicroPeel?
A MicroPeel is a treatment in which a solution is applied to your skin to encourage the exfoliation of dead skin cells and debris while stimulating the skin’s natural renewal process. The MicroPeel solution is tailored to fit your individual skin type and long-term goals.

What results will I see?
MicroPeels are designed to refine skin texture damaged by environmental factors and skin conditions such as acne. The procedure assists in smoothing fine lines and evening out skin discoloration while reducing the appearance of acne scars and environmental damage to the skin. With each additional MicroPeel procedure, you will notice incremental improvements in the overall appearance of your skin.

How many treatments do I need?
For maximum results, we recommend you have a series of six MicroPeel procedures in two to six week intervals, depending on your skin type.

Will I experience any downtime?
For approximately one week following the procedure, your skin will undergo a renewal process, shedding its dead outer layer. Depending on your skin you may or may not experience peeling. If peeling occurs, it usually begins two to four days following your treatment and lasts for approximately three days. In addition, you may experience mild itching and irritation.

Chemical Peels
Men and women alike share a common desire to have healthy, youthful skin. Exposurechemical peel to the sun and the elements in combination with adverse living habits contribute to the appearance of our skin. Chemical peels are increasingly popular with those who are unhappy about acne scarring, sun-damaged skin, age spots, freckles, fine lines, rough skin, and uneven pigmentation. A chemical peel is not limited to the face, and can be performed on the neck, chest, hands, arms, shoulders, and legs– just about anywhere!

What is a Chemical Peel?
Chemical Peels are topically applied acids that aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin's surface. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin. Depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated allowing new growth to be exposed, creating a fresh vibrant appearance.

Who are candidates?

Your skin type and the results you are aspiring to achieve will determine if you are a candidate, as well as which class of peel is most appropriate for you.

What are the benefits of a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels can enhance your appearance by reducing blotchy and uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, freckling, age spots, sun-damaged skin, and acne scars in a relatively brief measure of time. Chemical peels accelerate the production of new cells. Enjoy fresh smooth skin–immediately after your first treatment!

What are the side effects?
Chemical peels have become increasingly popular because of the array of advantages and relative lack of complications. Side effects are rare and usually temporary. Some side effects include uneven pigmentation, redness, and very infrequent scarring if the skin is not cared for appropriately. Sun protection is crucial to minimize the risk of side effects. A treatment program of individually suited products and sun protection will benefit your skin's ability to maintain the results of the peel. You can decrease the likelihood of side effects by carefully following the instructions of your treatment provider.

Types of Chemical Peels:
Chemical peels are classified as superficial, medium, and deep peels.

Superficial Peel

This peel is designed to help smooth coarse, dry skin, improve the texture of sun-damaged skin, and even out skin tone. The recovery is generally rapid and usually involves some minor flaking. A series of treatments is ordinarily recommended to obtain the desired result over a period of time. Typically, there is no down time and with appropriate sun protection, you can resume regular activities immediately.

Medium Peel
Medium peels contain a stronger potency of acids. Medium peels target the epidermis and upper dermis and cause the skin to slough within 5 to 7 days. Immediately after treatment the skin has a red appearance and is occasionally accompanied by swelling. Within a day the skin turns brown in color, and after 3 or 4 days the skin initiates the peeling process.

Deep Peel

Deep peels produce the most dramatic results. This peel is recommended for treating wrinkles, scars, blemishes and, in some cases, precancerous skin lesions. A deep peel targets the dermis. In some cases, anesthesia is required during the procedure to reduce the warm to hot stinging sensation. After a deep peel, the skin is red and can result in some swelling and blistering. A crust may form and the skin will turn brown just prior to peeling. Many layers of the skin will peel over a period of 1 to 2 weeks. An ointment may be given to keep the area moist. Temporarily, the new skin will have the color and sensation of significant sunburn, which will gradually fade to your normal skin color.
