Rosacea
Rosacea, or "adult acne," is a common disease affecting as many as 14 million Americans between the ages of 30 to 50. It often starts as a tendency to flush or blush easily. Over time, the disease progresses to persistent redness that involves the whole face with the development of red pimples and broken, dilated blood vessels. As the disease progresses, permanent dilated blood vessels appear on the face. Extreme cases may develop rhinophyma, a swollen, lumpy nose. Intense light and heat therapy (LHE®) can be highly effective in controlling rosacea or facial veins.
