PhotoFacialSM
What is PhotoFacialSM?
PhotoFacialSM is a series of Intense Pulsed Light treatments that improve the appearance of Rosacea, flushing, sun damaged skin, age spots, skin texture, and photo aging. The treatment also improves mild acne scars, reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes, and reduces fine lines. This exciting treatment involves little or no "down time". You can resume normal activities immediately.

How does the treatment work?
An intense light is applied in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area. Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. The heat impairs the vessel or lesion, and the body begins its natural healing process. The lesion will darken before it flakes off or is absorbed by the body. Treatment can be given as frequently as every three weeks.

How many treatments will I need?
For optimal results, a series of 5 treatments are recommended. Some patients see significant improvement in 2 to 3 treatments; others require more. Follow-up treatments may be recommended to maintain results.

What are the benefits of PhotoFacialSM?

What is a treatment like?
Treatment may vary from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. First, the treated area is cleansed and dried. When the pulse of light is delivered, the sensation is similar to a snap of a rubber band. After treatment, the skin cleansed, and a sunscreen is applied. Pain is minimal; however, topical anesthesia can be used for maximum comfort. For sensitive skin, a cool compress is applied following treatment.

Are there any possible side effects?
Side effects are rare. Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear flushed, brown pigmented spots may appear darker, and capillaries may be more visible. In rare instances, temporary swelling and/or blistering can occur.

What improvement will I see?
Patients have a high degree of satisfaction with their results. Expect to see a gradual decrease in redness, broken capillaries, flushing, irregular pigmentation, pore size, and fine lines. After each treatment, the skin will feel smoother and appear to have a more even tone.

PhotoFacialSM in treating Rosacea
As many as seventy-million Americans have undesirable redness and/or sun damaged skin. Sun exposure, alcohol, medications, stress, and aging are common causes of Rosacea. Rosacea is a common skin condition characterized by redness and flushing skin. PhotoFacialSM treatments control flushing and, in many cases, reduces the need for topical cortisone creams and antibiotics.

Laser Genesis
The Laser Genesis difference
The Laser Genesis procedure utilizes non-invasive laser technology to safely, discretely and effectively treat fine line wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, diffuse redness and scars. You can expect to see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment, without unwanted side effects such as bruising or excessive skin irritation. Treatments can be performed in a relaxed, comfortable manner without the use of topical anesthetics or gel.

What areas can be treated?
Laser Genesis patients report excellent results over their entire faces and necks. Additionally, practitioners may suggest this therapy to diminish recent scars on other parts of the body.

What is diffuse redness?
Diffuse redness is a general appearance of facial redness, such as rosy cheeks. This condition is caused by dilated capillaries, resulting in an appearance of general redness, not discrete, well-defined vessels. The most commonly affected areas are the nose, forehead and cheeks. Diffuse redness is often associated with a condition called rosacea and it can be hereditary. Laser Genesis will help your appearance by gently treating and reducing this condition before it progresses.

What does the procedure feel like?
Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin's surface during the procedure as the laser handpiece is moved back and forth about 1/2 inch above your skin. You can immediately return to normal activities, utilizing sunscreen if participating in outdoor activities

How does Laser Genesis work?
By gently heating the upper dermis well below your skin's surface, Laser Genesis stimulates collagen regrowth. Additional heat is generated in dilated capillaries to reduce redness.

What can I expect before the treatment?
You will not need gel, anesthetic cream or ice prior to treatment. Before the actual Laser Genesis treatment, you will be asked to remove your make-up or moisturizers and, in some cases, you may be asked to shave the area to be treated. Your physician will review and assist with all pre-treatment requirements.

How many treatments will I need?
The treatment results are often subtle. On average, you may require four to six treatments in order to achieve optimal results. Every patient's condition and needs vary. For more information about your expected results or the number of treatments necessary, consult your physician.

What are the possible side effects?
Although most patients report few if any side effects, the most common is a slight redness that disappears within a few hours of treatment.

What kind of textural improvements can you expect with Laser Genesis skin therapy?
Over the course of four to five treatments, Laser Genesis can help restore the skin's youthful glow and appearance by smoothing out uneven textures caused by aging, sun damage or scars. You will see a more creamy, healthy complexion as large pores are reduced in size, and minor imperfections are diminished. The individual treatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.

Chemical Peels
Men and women alike share a common desire to have healthy, youthful skin. Exposure to the sun and the elements in combination with adverse living habits contribute to the appearance of our skin. Chemical peels are increasingly popular with those who are unhappy about acne scarring, sun-damaged skin, age spots, freckles, fine lines, rough skin, and uneven pigmentation. A chemical peel is not limited to the face, and can be performed on the neck, chest, hands, arms, shoulders, and legs– just about anywhere!

What is a Chemical Peel?
Chemical Peels are topically applied acids that aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin's surface. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin. Depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated allowing new growth to be exposed, creating a fresh vibrant appearance.

Who are candidates?
Your skin type and the results you are aspiring to achieve will determine if you are a candidate, as well as which class of peel is most appropriate for you.

What are the benefits of a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels can enhance your appearance by reducing blotchy and uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, freckling, age spots, sun-damaged skin, and acne scars in a relatively brief measure of time. Chemical peels accelerate the production of new cells. Enjoy fresh smooth skin–immediately after your first treatment!

What are the side effects?
Chemical peels have become increasingly popular because of the array of advantages and relative lack of complications. Side effects are rare and usually temporary. Some side effects include uneven pigmentation, redness, and very infrequent scarring if the skin is not cared for appropriately. Sun protection is crucial to minimize the risk of side effects. A treatment program of individually suited products and sun protection will benefit your skin's ability to maintain the results of the peel. You can decrease the likelihood of side effects by carefully following the instructions of your treatment provider.

Types of Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are classified as superficial, medium, and deep peels.

Superficial Peel
This peel is designed to help smooth coarse, dry skin, improve the texture of sun-damaged skin, and even out skin tone. The recovery is generally rapid and usually involves some minor flaking. A series of treatments is ordinarily recommended to obtain the desired result over a period of time. Typically, there is no down time and with appropriate sun protection, you can resume regular activities immediately.

Medium Peel
Medium peels contain a stronger potency of acids. Medium peels target the epidermis and upper dermis and cause the skin to slough within 5 to 7 days. Immediately after treatment the skin has a red appearance and is occasionally accompanied by swelling. Within a day the skin turns brown in color, and after 3 or 4 days the skin initiates the peeling process.

Deep Peel
Deep peels produce the most dramatic results. This peel is recommended for treating wrinkles, scars, blemishes and, in some cases, precancerous skin lesions. A deep peel targets the dermis. In some cases, anesthesia is required during the procedure to reduce the warm to hot stinging sensation. After a deep peel, the skin is red and can result in some swelling and blistering. A crust may form and the skin will turn brown just prior to peeling. Many layers of the skin will peel over a period of 1 to 2 weeks. An ointment may be given to keep the area moist. Temporarily, the new skin will have the color and sensation of significant sunburn, which will gradually fade to your normal skin color.

Hydrafacial
This facial will remove dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously infusing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating, and moisturizing serums. Unlike any other facial, the hydrafacial will renew, refresh, rehydrate, and rejuvenate your skin without causing irritation. Your custom blended treatment can address issues like sun damage, hyperpigmentation, acne, fine lines and wrinkles and is safe for even the most sensitive skin. 50 Min.

Microdermabrasion (Crystal-Free)
Enjoy all the benefits of a typical microdermabrasion treatment, without the hassle of pesky crystals left on your skin. Our facial begins with a warm cleansing coupled with steam to remove any oils and impurities on the surface of your skin. The treatment begins with light stokes across your skin increasing in intensity until the desired outcome achieved. Treatments are tailored to you skin type and expectations. The exfoliating prowess of our Microdermbrasion treatment zeroes in on discoloration, acne, fine lines and sagging.

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, exfoliating treatment helpful for those unhappy with acne scarring, sun-damaged skin, age spots, freckles, stretch marks, fine lines, scars, and rough skin. Treatment can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, back, elbows, and feet. Microdermabrasion is a safe, therapeutic approach to skin care when used alone, or in combination with other treatments.

What is treatment like?
Microdermabrasion is performed with a stream of fine crystals, which are delivered across the skin's surface and then removed via vacuum, uprooting the damaged cells to reveal fresh, invigorated skin.

What are the benefits of Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion Improves

Skin is restored to a more youthful appearance and best of all there is no "down time". Resume regular activities immediately!

What results can I expect?
Poor health, diet, aging, stress, and the elements of nature can hinder the skin's cell renewal process. Microdermabrasion accelerates the cellular turnover process, bringing you closer to healthier, younger-looking skin. It allows you to gradually resurface your skin without the risks, side effects, and down time of more aggressive alternatives. In as little as 20 minutes, this gentle, abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results. Improvements in appearance and texture will occur with successive treatments. Microdermabrasion can be used aggressively to achieve dramatic results, but does not take the place of surgical or laser treatments.

How many treatments will I need?
To achieve maximum results, several treatments are recommended, typically scheduled 1 to 3 weeks apart. You will experience a progressive improvement throughout your treatment program. Ask to schedule a consultation to determine the approximate number of treatments recommended for optimum effects.

How does my skin look immediately after treatment?
Microdermabrasion leaves your skin feeling soft and you will notice a healthy glow to your complexion. Due to the increase of circulation, a mild temporary blush surrounding the treated area may be the only evidence of your therapy.
