The touch of a woman... The expertise of a surgeon
Dr. Greenwald is a nationally recognized vascular surgeon who has been in practice since 1985. In 1989 she moved to Hartford and has been in private practice in that area since then. Dr. Greenwald founded one of the premier vascular surgery groups in the tristate area in 1995 and has been a member of the teaching staff at the University of Connecticut Medical School and residency program. In 2003 she decided to focus on her passion, the care of venous problems, and founded Vanishing Veins. It has become one of the centers of excellence for vein care in the country. She has performed over two thousand ablation procedures and thousands of other vein treatment procedures.

Dr. Greenwald completed her general surgery residency at NYU-Bellevue Medical Center and her vascular surgery fellowship at Temple University. She holds memberships in the American Medical Association, The American College of Surgery (where she is a fellow), The Association of Women Surgeons, The Society of Vascular Surgery, The New England Vascular Society, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the American College of Phlebology, among others.

In recognition of her excellence Dr. Greenwald was chosen by Money Magazine as one of the Northeast's top Vascular Surgeons. She was also voted one of America's Top Surgeons for Vascular Surgery by the Consumers' Research Council of America in 2007.

Her schedule is busy with teaching commitments. Her lectures to the public are heavily attended. She has also taught other physicians in the techniques of varicose and spider vein care and in recognition of her laser expertise was recently chosen as a Luminary in laser therapy by Alma Lasers.
